Look Beneath The Surface
Imagine you’re a MicroFlex property manager, and you get a call from a prospect interested in leasing one of your units. He’s a 21 year-old high school graduate. He has no previous business experience. No bank financing. A business plan he wrote himself. And he wants a unit for “window tinting and auto protection.”
You’d have a lot of questions. If it’s Cristian Rosa, your first one would be, “When can you move in?”
Cali Customz, MicroFlex Hoover’s first tenant, held its grand opening Saturday February 7th, 2026. More than 100 people showed-up. “It was was amazing,” Cristian beams. “We had it catered, we hired a live DJ, and the place was packed.” The very next day, Cristian published an Instagram post personally thanking his very first customer: The owner of a 2022 Lamborghini Huracán. “We applied Maxpro Film to his front windows and windshield, and he was thrilled with the job we did.”
Demand has been so strong for Cali Customz’ work (which also includes vinyl wraps and ceramic paint protection), Cristian leased a second unit, right next door, in April. “My first day in business, last October,” he remembers, “was the day I signed my lease with MicroFlex. Ever since then, I’ve invested everything I’ve made back into the business. From the very beginning, my goal has been to build a brand for Cali Customz. That’s why I chose MicroFlex. It’s such a great-looking facility, and they do a super job of keeping the place spotless outside.”
A VIP experience. A lasting impression.
“There are plenty of businesses in town who do what we do. We’ve set ourselves apart by creating a first-rate customer experience. Every customer we serve is special to me. I want them to feel that, and my upstairs office space is perfect for giving them that one-on-one attention.”
Where did this kid come from?
It’s a pretty safe bet that people in the business are talking about Cristian, but he’d already firmly established a reputation for the quality of his work. “Last year I entered an international competition in Orlando. There were 120 competitors, with people from as far away as Canada, Brazil and Korea. I was one of the top finalists, and by far the youngest awarded a medal.”
Since completing their first job on grand opening day, Cali Customz has worked their magic on a second Lamborghini and a McLaren — in addition to any number of cars and trucks worth well over $100,000. “Being here has given us so much confidence,” he says. “I’d heard about MicroFlex back when there was just the Irondale location. I knew I wanted a flexible space with a work area and a customer area, and I almost took a unit there. When they announced that the Hoover facility was opening soon, Mom looked me in the eye and said, ‘That’s where you’re going!”
It runs in the family.
It’s not a stretch to say that Cristian learned everything he knows about managing a business from his mother. Ten months before he became MicroFlex Hoover’s first tenant, she opened Mi Tierra Linda (“My Beautiful Land”) — a 23,000 square foot supermarket in Center Point.
“Family means everything to me. My mother has always been my hero, and my number one cheerleader. The first two guys working with me are both cousins. And I named the business in honor of my best friend, who was like a brother to me.”
Cali died in 2024. “Growing up together, he and I spent so much time talking about our dreams for the future. When I decided to start this business, the name Cali Customz came to me, and I just knew it was right.” Much like a MicroFlex property manager knew about Cristian himself.
